I love food and I love creating community around food. I am a cooking teacher in the Bay Area, in love with the seasonal produce, I have much to share from my 35 years in the food business, my many miles of traveling where food is always my way of understanding culture and the many meals with my wonderful community.

Along with my son and his fiancé, I keep a foot in the catering world with our company, Aliment Events.

I have over 30 years experience developing creative, fresh recipes and menus. I work closely with my clients to discover their favorite foods, understand their chronic and acute health challenges and dietary preferences.

My recipes feature California cuisine with a global influence and lots of fresh, seasonal vegetables. I love to work with the finest, local, primarily organic ingredients with an eye towards sustainability.

Cooking Classes

The joy I experience in throwing a party comes through in my classes. They are a fun way to learn in a friendly environment, this is not a cooking competition! Classes can be one-on-one, a family cooking lesson with the kids, or a party with your friends.

I can teach you the basics of cooking, or we can explore a regional cuisine, a specific type of cooking method, or a dietary preference.

Private Chef Services

There are all sorts of reasons to have a private chef prepare meals for you, besides enjoying delicious food! If you have busy work and family life, having meals ready to eat, will feel like a luxury. If you have health issues, appropriate foods will keep you stronger and help to heal you.

I have over 35 years of experience teaching, catering, and event planning around the world! My c.v. includes being the director of catering at Market Hall, the director of operations at Project Open Hand, and currently on the staff of the Kitchen on Fire Cooking School in Berkeley.
